Concordia University Chicago Offers Students a Chance to Master Their Profession

Concordia University Chicago, which opened its doors in 1864, continues a long-held commitment to supporting and educating those who wish to master their profession.

Students enrolled in the MBA or DBA programs receive an education rooted firmly in the school’s Four Pillars of Knowledge:

Additionally, Concordia University Chicago’s innovative, online “global classrooms” include students from 37 states and 26 countries. Students have the choice of taking classes on campus or online, giving them the flexibility to earn a degree in a way that is most advantageous to them.

Some programs also are offered as accelerated classes, allowing students to finish their degree faster.

Master of Arts

Concordia University Chicago offers a variety of Master of Arts degree programs that prepare students to take on the top jobs in their chosen profession. All Master of Arts programs are designed to create leaders who can guide organizations through changing times while delivering products and services that are effective, ethical and efficient.

Degree Program Specifications

The two-year Master of Arts programs at Concordia University Chicago consist of 30-33 credit hours of online coursework. The academic calendar encompasses three 16-week semesters per year, and each semester is divided into two consecutive eight-week terms. With a total of six sessions per calendar year, students can complete the online MA programs in two years by taking one class per term. Students have the option to enroll in an accelerated plan to complete their degree sooner.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission into any of the 8 online specialized Master of Arts degree programs at Concordia University Chicago, students must have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Prospective students are required to complete the free online application and submit all required admissions materials:

  • Objective Statement – Write a brief statement outlining your education and career goals and explain how an online MA degree from Concordia University Chicago will help you fulfill those objectives.
  • Official Transcripts – Provide one official, sealed transcript from each institution that has granted you a degree. Full admission requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better for master’s degree or 2.85 for MBA.
  • Letters of Recommendation – Send two letters of recommendation from individuals who are able to comment on your academic proficiency, professional competencies and personal character.
  • Professional Resume – Provide a copy of your resume or curriculum vitae, including relevant work experience, degrees, certifications, and skills. (MBA only)
 

International applicants may be required to submit additional supporting materials, such as proof of English language proficiency and a foreign transcript evaluation from an approved credentialing service. For full requirements, visit the Admission & Tuition page. 

There is no application fee and no GRE requirement to apply for the online MBA program at Concordia University Chicago.
