Concordia-Chicago is a proud partner in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide transfer agreement designed to help students move their credits easily from an Illinois community college, including the City Colleges of Chicago, the largest community college system in Illinois.
Apply your general education credits or even a completed associate degree toward your accelerated bachelor’s degree–and fast-track your future!
As such, all participating institutions of the IAI transfer agreement, like Concordia-Chicago, seamlessly accept a standard “package” of general education courses known as the Illinois General Education Core Curriculum (GECC). Completion of the transferable GECC at any participating college or university in Illinois assures transferring students that lower-division general education requirements for a bachelor’s degree have been satisfied, excluding graduation and mission-related requirements.

While an Associate of Arts meets the full general education package, an Associate of Science has a slightly modified general education package due to its focus on STEM areas of study.
